Week 7 of my 52 NEW Things Project takes me to Leucadia and Cafe Ipe along historic Highway 101. I had to be in nearby Encinitas for a photo shoot at the Ecke YMCA that day, so I met up with my friend Erin who lives near. After a quick lunch at the amazing Haggo's Organic Taco, one block down, we decided to grab a coffee before I had to leave for my shoot. Cafe Ipe is a welcoming space with a cool vibe enhanced by their in-house coffee roaster (run by Revolution Roasters). My visit was quick but my drink (a chai tea latte with almond milk) was great and I'll definitely be back! Here's some info on the Cafe via their website:

"Café Ipe is a small local specialty coffee house located on the 101 in the beach town of Leucadia. We serve fresh coffee hand roasted on the premise and delicious locally sourced teas. Our menu offers a variety of breakfast and lunch dishes made fresh to order. We have also partnered with a few local bakeries to bring in incredible pastries baked fresh daily. Café Ipe is the vision of a few local longtime friends who wanted to create a place to hang out with friends and family and meet new friends while enjoying the best coffee in town. In order to do this we teamed up with another local, Dan the Coffee Man from Revolution Roasters, to roast our coffee right in the café. We built the café with the locals in mind while intending to capture the vibe of Leucadia. We support local musicians, with live music on the weekends, and also feature a local artist each month."
